I learned how to knit and crochet as a young adult and purchased a knitting machine right after I had my first child. I loved creating knitted garments and had a modest home-based business doing word of mouth custom knitting while my two oldest children were young.

Many, many hand/machine knit hats, mittens and sweaters later, I eagerly learned how to spin my own yarn!  I was fortunate to have a friend offer lessons on a drop spindle and even more fortunate, shortly after mastering that technique, to be given access to a rather weather-beaten antique Canadian Production Wheel.  I became excited about getting it into good working condition, very rapidly "got the hang of it" and have enjoyed countless hours of spinning on it.

Creating yarn is one of my passions. I take great pleasure in knitting as well, and I find that knitting with handspun yarn is a rich and rewarding experience!
