Sunday, January 5 – Our Third Annual Distaff Day! Noon – 4:00 - FREE
Bring your drop spindle and/or spinning wheel for some spinning camaraderie!
Traditionally, on January 7 of each year (after the 12 Days of Christmas were over), women would return to their spinning to prepare for the upcoming year. On January 5, stop by our shop any time from noon – 4:00 for some refreshments and spinning. If you aren’t already a spinner, feel free to come watch those who enjoy it. You’re welcome to stay a short time or the entire four hours. Thank you to The Farm Store for providing space for us to spin in the New Year!
Saturday, January 18 (snow date Jan 25) – Knitted Stuffed Mittens – 10:00 – 1:00
with Kathy Giroux of Mountain Fiber Folk. $45 + materials. Knit a pair of mittens then stuff them with fleece so they felt to your (or another’s) hand! Kathy will get you started on these mittens so that you will be able to finish them on your own. Participants need to know how to work on double-pointed needles. Materials needed for class (bring your own or purchase at Two Sisters): US 5 DPN needles (five total); one skein worsted weight yarn. Included with the class and provided by Two Sisters: 1 oz fleece for each participant.
Sunday, February 2 – Weaving: Level 2 – 10:00 – 4:00
with Mary Anderson of Loominations of Vermont. $150 per person. In this Level 2 weaving intensive, Mary will cover:
- problem solving in class (questions answered)
- different ways of finishing projects
- looking at more complicated patterns
- tricks to getting around warping mistakes
- shortcuts to warping
- touching on double weaving; a loom warped for double weaving will be on hand
Saturday, , February 8 – 3-D Crocheted Hearts – 10:00 – Noon
with Gabrielle Gillilian of Splice of Life. $25 + materials. Crocheting experience necessary. Materials needed for class (bring your own or purchase at Two Sisters): crochet hook and yarn in size appropriate for hook.
Saturday, March 8 – Needle-Felted Leprechaun Noon – 4:00
with Susi Ryan of The Felted Gnome
Knows. $80 ($60 for the class; $20 for materials).
Some needle-felting experience preferred.
Saturday, April 4 – Needle-Felted Easter Egg – 10:00 - Noon with Nicole Vance. $30, includes materials. No felting experience necessary.
Saturday, April 18 – Weaving -Level 1 – 10:00 – 4:00 with Mary Anderson of Loominations of Vermont. Using our floor looms, learn how to wind a warp, how to dress the loom, and complete two woven pieces. $150, includes materials.
Saturday, May 2 – Landscape Needle Felting - 10:00 - 1:00 with Kathy Giroux of Mountain Fiber Folk. Use a photo of your own garden or one of our photos to recreate the scene in wool. For needle-felters of all levels. $55, includes materials (except frame).
Saturday, May 9 – Level 2 Weaving – 10:00 – 4:00 with Mary Anderson of Loominations of Vermont. This is a repeat of the February 2 class.
