Until May, our classes will take place at Visions of Vermont Art Gallery. We are closed the month of May to move our shop to our new location at The Granary, 2 blocks west of our current location. From June onwards we hope to offer our classes at our new location.

Payment for each workshop is due upon registration.

COVID Information:  Masks are at the discretion of the class instructor. 

​

Refund Policy: If we have to cancel the class for any reason, you're refunded 100%. If you cancel up to two weeks before the class you're also refunded 100%. If you cancel within the two week time frame, you're refunded 100% if there's a waiting list and your slot is filled successfully. If there's no waiting list we will refund 50%. This is so we can pay the instructor at least a percentage of the slot for those who do come to the class.

Still Life Needle Felting with Kathy Giroux - this class is full; ask to be on our waiting list.

Learn to needle felt or hone your skills in this class that focuses on creating a picture with a central focus such as a flower or vase of flowers. â€‹

Sundays, July 30, August 3, & Aug 17, 11:00 - 3:00 each day

Designing and Weaving a Tapestry with Susan Snider

$525

In this workshop we will transform an image, idea, or inspiration into a "weaverly" tapestry. You will learn how to develop a cartoon, what decisions need to be made prior warping the loom, which tapestry techniques will give the effect required and weave the design. This is not a beginner class. Students will need to have their own loom, be able to warp the loom, and have a supply of yarn for weaving. Three sessions, two weeks apart to give ample time to weave between classes. 

Susan will be available between classes to answer questions and give feedback, bringing the total to six weeks of instruction.

3-D Sculpture Needle felting with Kathy Giroux

$100, includes materials.

Learn how to create a 3D figure through needle felting with special focus on creating charming faces.

Saturday and Sunday, August 23 & 24, 10:00 - 4:00 both days

The Art of Tapestry Weaving with Susan Snider

$200, includes use of loom and all materials. 

The ancient art of tapestry weaving holds endless possibilities for the modern weaver. This two-day beginner workshop will explore the history of tapestry, basic rules and conventions and how to weave a tapestry.  You will learn how to warp a loom, weave froma cartoon, and how to design your own tapestry. Everyone goes home with their woven sample.

Saturday, August 30, 10:00 - 3:00

Dyeing Protein Fibers (wool & silk) with Synthetic Dyes

with Susan Snider

$145 (includes $45 in materials - fiber and use of dyes, supplies, etc.)

Usingin environmentally friendly Greener Shades dyes, we will dye both yarn and fabric made from wool and silk. Dyeing will be taught in a controlled manner with a focus on being able to repeat colors. We will discuss depth of shade, weight of fiber, over dyeing and mixing colors from primary colors. Approximately 12 ounces of yarn and fiber will be supppoied. Students are welcome to bring their own fibers.

On-Going Events (no need to preregister)
Drop In Fiber Hour at the shop
Bring your knitting, crochet, spinning, felting, embroidery, cross stitch (whatever!) and join us for an hour of crafting with old friends and new acquaintances! Every Monday, 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Every Tuesday, 9:45 - 10:45.
Spinning Guild at the shop
Bring your wheel or spindle every other Sunday from 2:30 - 4:00. Wheels are available to use and fiber available for purchase. This is occasionally held at Visions of Vermont Carriage House Gallery, which is located across the street and a few doors down from the shop.
